Budget Direct opens in SA to tap ‘exceptional talent pool’
Budget Direct has launched operations in Adelaide today, with 50 staff serving customers from a new facility in the city’s CBD.
It says the aim is to move to a permanent site next year, with capacity for up to 300 employees.
The company told insuranceNEWS.com.au scaling up to that number will take 18-24 months, dependent in part on recruitment and training capacity.
The initial team of customer service and claims specialists will support all Auto & General policies, including Budget Direct customers and other partner brands.
Auto & General CEO insurance Australia Adam Crane says the Adelaide office is “a clear demonstration of our commitment to our customers in SA and across the country.
“We’re thrilled to be investing in the local economy, creating valuable, long-term job opportunities, and contributing to Adelaide’s future growth.
“This move allows us to enhance our service capabilities and deepen our connection with the community.”
Ashley Wright has moved to Adelaide to lead the new team as GM for the SA operations.
He said: “It’s an exciting time to be in Adelaide, which was specifically chosen for this expansion because of its exceptional talent pool.
“Our recruitment has focused on hiring local South Australians, alongside two experienced leaders who relocated to Adelaide to help establish the office.
“We are excited to be bringing new career opportunities to the local market and being part of the South Australian community.”
The new office and contact centre is Budget Direct’s fourth in Australia, and its first outside Queensland.
An Auto & General spokesperson said: “While we constantly review opportunities to support our growing customer base, Auto & General’s immediate and primary focus for regional expansion is Adelaide.”
