Clearlake takes Journey as expansion continues

Clearlake Insurance Brokers has expanded in Queensland with the acquisition of Journey Insure.

The Sydney-based brokerage’s third acquisition adds to its presence in NSW and the broader Australian market, and Clearlake intends to launch in Victoria this year through a further purchase.

“What stands out about Journey Insure is the strength of the relationships they’ve built with their clients over the years,” Clearlake co-CEO John Angelis said.

“Our priority now is making sure that experience continues seamlessly as they join the Clearlake group.”

Management of policies transferring to Clearlake begins today.

Earlier this year, privately owned Clearlake bought the broking portfolio of WEB Financial & Insurance Services, and last year it acquired NSW-based Logan Insurance Brokers.

Clearlake says it has ambitious growth plans and Journey, based in Maroochydore, brings a loyal and established client base.

“Queensland has long been a priority market for us, and this acquisition gives us an immediate, credible presence in the state,” co-CEO Yianni Gourlas said. “We’re looking forward to supporting Journey Insure’s clients with the same care and expertise they’ve come to expect.”
