AIG appoints interim CEO
AIG Australia has named Claudio Saita interim CEO as it continues the hunt for a permanent replacement for former local chief Kat Warden.
As previously reported, Ms Warden is to join Chubb as head of Pacific property and casualty. insuranceNEWS.com.au understands Ms Warden’s notice runs until October and she is still employed by AIG.
Mr Saita confirmed his appointment on LinkedIn.
“A few weeks in, I am truly impressed by the calibre of the team and the strength of the culture here,” he wrote.
“There is significant capability across claims, underwriting, actuarial, distribution, risk engineering and functional areas, along with a genuine care for one another and our clients.
“The opportunity ahead is exciting. I look forward to continuing to deliver on our commitments to brokers and clients, investing in our people and the resilience of our business, and positioning AIG Australia for further growth in the Pacific.”
Mr Saita will report to regional president Scott Leney. The pair worked together at Everest, where Mr Saita held an interim country head role from July to December last year.
Before the Everest role, Mr Saita was Canopius head of Australia and Pacific, and held senior roles at Tokio Marine for more than a decade.
AIG has not provided comment, but insuranceNEWS.com.au understands the position is short-term and designed to continue momentum while the search for a permanent CEO continues.
