Emergence buys Blue Zebra cyber book

Emergence Insurance has acquired the cyber cover portfolio of Envest-backed underwriting agency group Blue Zebra.

Blue Zebra cyber policies that renew from July 1 will be offered replacement covers from Emergence, and at the same time Blue Zebra head of cyber Aaron Langmaid will join the cyber specialist underwriter.

Emergence CEO Troy Filipcevic says the deal reflects his company’s continued focus on the segment since launching in 2015 offering personal and business cyber covers.

“Blue Zebra has built a solid cyber portfolio, underpinned by a small specialist team,” Mr Filipcevic said.

“We’re pleased to welcome their cyber policyholders to Emergence and continue supporting them with specialist cyber protection and practical end-to-end support before, during and after a cyber incident.”

Emergence says Blue Zebra policyholders that renew will “benefit from an expanded risk appetite, more flexible coverage options and support from a larger, dedicated cyber team”.

Blue Zebra CEO Rowan Watson says the deal ensures continuity for policyholders while expanding their access to cyber capability and support services.

“Emergence has built a strong reputation in cyber insurance and shares our commitment to protecting policyholders,” he said.
