Eric Harris has been appointed national manager of broker partnerships at AUB Group.

Sydney-based Mr Harris previously spent 27 years at Aon, finishing as head of operations for Asia-Pacific, and is a former National Insurance Brokers Association president and director.

Mr Harris reports to AUB chief broking officer Ben Bessell.

“We are delighted that Eric is joining the team. He brings a deep understanding of the broking sector along with broad experience in the industry,” Mr Bessell told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Mr Harris joined Aon in 1999 as operations manager in Papua New Guinea, after moving there with Sedgwick. He began his career as an account broker at Marsh.

“Making a change after such a long chapter wasn’t easy and I’m deeply grateful to the colleagues, leaders and friends who shaped my journey at Aon,” he said on LinkedIn.

“Stepping into AUB Group marks an exciting new phase in my career. This role will allow me to draw on the experience I’ve gained across client relationships, industry representation through NIBA, team and business leadership, and operational management.

“I’m looking forward to building strong partnerships across the Austbrokers network and continuing to contribute to the profession I care so much about.
