Allianz Australia head of reinsurance Michael Crouch will leave the company next year, with the role to be filled by Gallagher Re’s local CEO Heather Bone.

An Allianz spokesperson says Mr Crouch will retire at the end of July after a long and successful career.

“We would like to thank Michael for his significant contributions to Allianz over the last four years and wish him well in his retirement,” the spokesperson said.

Mr Crouch has worked in actuarial consulting and at insurance companies including Aon Benfield. 

Ms Bone, Gallagher Re’s CEO for Australia and New Zealand, has held roles across general and life insurance in Australia and the UK over two decades. She joined Gallagher Re in 2022 from Munich Re.

“Heather will join Allianz from February 2026, bringing with her a wealth of experience and expertise in both reinsurance and leadership,” the spokesperson said.
