icare executive roles hit by 'changes'
An unspecified number of high-level icare staff will be affected by changes announced today by the NSW state insurer.
icare says the organisational changes to its “enabling functions … ensure it continues to deliver improved, essential services where they matter most”.
The revamp is primarily within the digital and transformation and risk and governance teams.
icare says the moves are “focused on simplifying how the organisation works while prioritising high-impact activities that directly support and improve front-line services”.
“These changes were designed to strengthen the organisation’s ability to deliver value-based care, support employers and homeowners to navigate various schemes, and contribute to a more sustainable workers’ compensation system in NSW,” icare said.
“Importantly, there are no negative impacts on the outward-facing services icare provides … icare is committed to supporting people affected through transition support and career assistance.”
A spokesperson told insuranceNEWS.com.au that “the impacted roles were executive level”.
In its 2024-25 annual report, icare said “there is always more to do” after completing an improvement and reform program.
“Throughout the year, we undertook a significant restructure to support our organisational
savings plan, reduce senior executive numbers and meet government targets,” the report said.
“We acknowledge the impact of this change on our people and appreciate their continued focus
and commitment.
“Our strategy and plan for the year ahead is focused on improving how we operate and deliver, so we can continue to provide quality care.”
