INsight podcast: federal budget disappoints again
The federal budget and its lack of action on insurance and disaster mitigation is the first topic discussed on the latest episode of the Insurance News podcast.
As previously reported, the budget allocated $3.4 million over four years to develop measures that drive down property insurance costs and reduce unintentional underinsurance, but there was no mitigation infrastructure boost.
This week’s edition of INsight, hosted by Insurance News MD Andrew Silcox, features editor-in-chief John Deex, deputy editor Wendy Pugh and senior journalists Bernice Han and Miranda Maxwell.
Also discussed by the team are the small business insurance inquiry hearings, new technology that could help bring premiums down in flood risk areas, and the dangers of “frontier AI”.
