Lockton demands court clampdown on three more Aviso hires

Lockton has launched legal action against more former employees who joined competing brokerage Aviso Specialty.

A breach of contract claim filed last month in the NSW Supreme Court targets Daniel Agostino, Gemma King and Tina Long, who were recruited for Aviso’s mining and resources team.

Lockton is seeking court orders stopping them approaching personnel they know or who are likely to possess trade secrets or confidential information; enticing such people away; or procuring the engagement of such people by a competing business.

It also wants orders against soliciting or accepting any approach from Lockton customers, distributors or licensees with a view to establishing a relationship between them and a competitor.

In addition, it says the ex-employees should be prevented from interfering with the relationship between Lockton and “its customers, distributors, licensees, officers, employees, contractors or agents in the conduct of its business”.

The summons says Lockton is also seeking damages and costs, plus interest. A directions hearing was scheduled before Justice Francois Kunc last Friday.

Lockton previously filed action against Patrick Moore and Steven Autrey over contractual post-employment constraints. The court made orders on those matters last month.
