Marsh fills risk management, claims leadership roles

Marsh has appointed Scott Eccleston as Pacific head of risk management and recruited former QBE executive Jonathon Fox to fill a new position as Asia-Pacific head of claims operations.

Mr Eccleston replaces Damian Schinck, who has been promoted to Pacific president

He has 30 years’ experience in the insurance and risk sector, including more than two decades with Marsh.

“Scott’s leadership will strengthen our delivery of market-leading risk insights, claims expertise and innovative insurance risk management solutions for some of the largest corporations in the region,” Marsh said in a LinkedIn post.

Mr Fox joins Marsh after stepping down as QBE Australia Pacific chief claims officer at the end of last year, following eight years in the role. He was previously at Elders Insurance and is a former Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance president

“I am excited to have joined a great organisation and I’m looking forward to meeting my new colleagues both in Australia and across Asia and the Pacific,” Mr Fox wrote on LinkedIn.

In other changes, Maurice Gatto becomes head of global placement for Marsh Pacific – the role formerly held by Mr Eccleston. Mr Gatto was previously deputy head of global placement and head of portfolio solutions for the Pacific region.
