SIRA CEO heads for exit

The CEO of NSW’s State Insurance Regulatory Authority will leave after two years in charge.

Mandy Young, who has more than 20 years’ experience in public sector leadership roles, took over from Adam Dent in May 2024.

“Mandy Young is leaving her role after leading a restructure of the agency to strengthen its regulatory oversight of NSW insurance schemes,” a spokesperson for the Department of Customer Service told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“Ms Young has made a significant contribution to the public sector through her work at SIRA, at the Department of Customer Service as chief operating officer, in her roles at Service NSW and more broadly across the sector as a strong advocate for vulnerable members of the community.

“The department would like to thank Ms Young for her contribution and wish her all the best for the future.”

insuranceNEWS.com.au understands that independent review officer Samantha Taylor will lead SIRA while the process to recruit a new CEO is under way.
