Top 20 AR networks report published

Insurance News has published a special report on the authorised representative sector, which has grown quickly to become a critical part of general insurance distribution in Australia.

Sponsored by Arch Insurance, the 40-page report includes detailed articles on key issues such as consolidation, technology and the range of different models in the market – as well as a top 20 ranking.

The ranking is based on the number of individual and corporate ARs listed under each network on the Australian Securities and Investments Commission register, and additional metrics on growth and tenure have been provided by data expert Roshan Khozouei.

The figure used for the ranking is not a perfect measure, and should not be interpreted as anything other than an indication of scale. We’re aware some companies would prefer to be ranked by gross written premium. Others believe number of corporate ARs is the more relevant figure. We’re also aware every network operates in its own way, with different priorities.

But where we’ve landed provides a relevant and interesting list, based on public, verifiable data.

We hope you find it useful, and enjoy the profiles and articles. Click here to download the report – which will also be posted to Insurance News magazine subscribers.
