The free session – How to Spot Red Flags as You Automate Claims – will be held at 10.30am on Thursday June 18, featuring Michael Anderson, Guidewire’s industry advisory lead for claims based in the US, and local Guidewire expert Adrian Lewis.

Mr Anderson works with executives worldwide to help develop long-term claims strategies.

He says it is important that business leaders take charge on automation, rather than it be solely an IT department project.

Establishing what should remain from older systems is also important.

“People will still want an easy, simple first notice of loss, faster claim service, accurate settlement. They’re still going to want empathy and someone to talk to,” Mr Anderson said.

“The question then becomes how to deliver those competencies in different ways – if you can do that, your strategy will always be spot on, because the fundamental attributes of what’s important to customers won’t change.

“How you can deliver on those competencies will change.”

The webinar will examine where the insurance industry is on its claims automation journey, the building blocks of success and how to avoid pitfalls and spot “red flags”.

The discussion, moderated by Insurance News senior journalist Miranda Maxwell, will also explore the evolving role of the claims adjuster in an increasingly automated environment, and how insurers can bring claims professionals “along for the ride”.
