Insurtech Entsia has added AI invoice processing to its claims platform, cutting the time spent paying suppliers by as much as 97% versus manual methods. 

The new invoice-to-payment capability reduces the time it takes to upload, validate and approve payments from 30 minutes to under a minute, potentially saving months of time each year, Entsia says. 

"The goal is not just to move faster, but to improve efficiency, control and service quality at the same time," CEO Alistair McElligott said. 

“One of the biggest opportunities we see for AI in insurance is bringing intelligence directly into the governed workflows where policy and claims decisions already happen."

The system reads the invoice, auto-populates the claims record, and validates data against the claim, policy information and customer specific business rules. 

It then determines whether to either route to the team for review, or approve the invoice and send the payment for processing.
