IAG to roll out wellness app among customers
IAG’s Firemark Ventures has invested in Sydney people risk platform Sonder, which delivers mental health, medical and safety support via an app.
The insurer uses Sonder to support its workforce and will now extend the tool to customers, to help during catastrophic weather and major incidents.
“Sonder’s platform represents a compelling example of innovation that enhances health, safety and wellbeing outcomes,” IAG Firemark Ventures general partner Scott Gunther said.
Other Sonder customers include Woolworths, PwC, University of Sydney, Allianz Partners, Hays, McDonalds, Hoyts, Toll Group, the NSW government and UK train operator Southeastern.
IAG group executive for people, performance and reputation Christine Stasi says the investment signals an intent to move beyond claims response towards prevention and earlier intervention.
“Earlier support in these moments can improve mental health outcomes, helping reduce the broader cost of harm to individuals and communities,” she said.
Firemark is IAG’s venture capital arm.
