Instanda builds AI underwriting workbench

A new underwriting workbench called Instanda Clear has been launched to aid “judgment-led” work that cannot be fully automated.

Insurance software group Instanda’s CEO Tim Hardcastle says the most complex underwriting and operational work has been “left behind” and is still fragmented across emails, spreadsheets and rigid systems.

“This is more than a traditional underwriting workbench,” he said. “It is a next-generation execution layer that puts business owners in control of how work is actually delivered.

“Teams can shape workflows around how they actually work, adapt them dynamically as cases evolve, and bring their wider ecosystem into governed, auditable execution where humans remain at the centre and technology supports how work gets done.”

Teams can manage referrals, placement, fraud checks, complex mid-term adjustments, renewals, complaints, reinsurance and other operational processes with a clear view of what needs to happen, who is responsible and what is complete, Instanda says.

An AI inbox creates tasks from received emails, capturing relevant context and routing them into the appropriate workflows.

Instanda head of sales for Asia-Pacific Jerry Hall says with rising regulatory scrutiny in Australia and New Zealand, customers need “visibility, auditability and control as a baseline, not as an afterthought.

“Instanda Clear delivers exactly that, keeping underwriters and operations teams firmly in control while AI removes the administrative burden that slows complex cases down.”
