Irish embedded insurance infrastructure platform Kayna has closed a €1.5 million ($2.45 million) seed funding round as it moves ahead with major expansion plans in the UK and US.

Led by original pre-seed investor Delta Partners and with ongoing support from MiddleGame Ventures and Aperture, three new investors joined the latest round – Leo Capital, Enterprise Ireland and Digital Irish.

Kayna says it helps business software companies add insurance to their platforms in a simple, seamless way.

“All of the essential elements are now in place, allowing us to scale effectively in our key markets,” CEO ‍Paul Prendergast said. “We’re ready to grow and aim to enable $US1 billion in commercial insurance transactions across the next five years.”
