Parametric cover specialist Descartes Underwriting has made Sebastien Bardy its CFO.  

He joins the Paris-based business from Allianz, where he was planning and controlling lead in charge of global lines, Asia and Anglo markets. He has also held roles at Deloitte and PwC.  

“I am delighted to welcome Sebastien to the management team,” Descartes CEO Tanguy Touffut said.

“He will optimise our investment strategies, but also further strengthen our strong financial performance and management capabilities overall.”   

Mr Touffut says COO Violaine Raybaud and finance head Chloe Duval have laid the groundwork for the creation of Mr Bardy’s position. Ms Duval will be deputy CFO.  

Descartes specialises in corporate parametric solutions related to climate, cyber and other emerging risks. It has offices in more than 20 countries across Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.
