CALI opens female adviser grant program

The Council of Australian Life Insurers has opened applications for its ReCALIbrate program promoting opportunities for women in financial risk advice.

Five winning candidates will receive a $2000 grant to attend Financial Advice Association Australia’s three-day conference in Perth in November.

This year’s program also features benefits including an exclusive meet and greet with CALI representatives and previous ReCALIbrate winners. This session will also be available to shortlisted candidates who attend the conference.

The winners will also receive a complimentary ticket to CALI’s annual conference next year, priority consideration for industry speaking engagements, and a social media and press toolkit to help build up their visibility.

CALI CEO Christine Cupitt says the expanded program reflects the investment needed to support diversity across the life industry.

“We know from our research that women need their own strong financial safety nets, and women advisers are uniquely placed to bridge that knowledge gap and build diversity in our industry,” she said. “Every grant has proven to be an investment in the future of advice, which makes this year even more exciting as we have broadened the value of the ReCALIbrate program to include more opportunities to connect and network.”

FAAA CEO Sarah Abood says the program “ensures women in risk advice are right there, engaging in what it means to be ahead of the curve”.

Applications are open until September 21 here.
