PPS Mutual has appointed Matthew Pilcher as director of strategy and Avanti Patki as head of product.

The specialist life insurer says Mr Pilcher will lead the company’s long-term strategy, identifying opportunities and oversee new initiatives across the business.

Mr Pilcher was previously director of proposition, a role he has held since joining the insurer in 2014. 

PPS says the director of strategy role is a new position that “reflects the scale” of the business following its launch in 2016. 

Ms Patki will lead the development and pricing of the insurer’s specialist product suite, reporting to Mr Pilcher. She was previously senior product actuary - member strategy and engagement manager. 

“The appointments mark the next phase of growth for PPS Mutual as it enters its second decade with more than 18000 members and in-force premiums approaching $150 million,” the insurer said.
