Zurich moves to wrap up ClearView deal
Zurich is to complete its acquisition of life insurer ClearView Wealth this quarter after the Supreme Court of NSW approved the $415 million buyout’s scheme of arrangement.
The Swiss insurer says it has lodged an office copy of the court’s orders with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
ClearView stock was suspended from quotation at the close of trading on Friday after the lodgement.
“The scheme is expected to be implemented on Thursday August 20,” ClearView Wealth said.
Zurich has the fourth-largest share of the Australian life market, at 5.2%, according to researcher IBISworld.
