The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has put general insurance comparison sites next on its review agenda.

“We are considering a separate review of industry practices in the comparison site sector in the near future,” the regulator said in a consultative paper on life insurance research houses.

“This would include looking at whether there are issues of quality, disclosure and conflicts of interest in research and comparison services for non-investment products such as general insurance.”
