Former federal assistant treasurer David Bradbury has started his tenure as Australian Prudential Regulation Authority deputy chair.

Mr Bradbury, whose five-year term began on September 1, will oversee the authority’s work in superannuation.

He was appointed in July by Treasurer Jim Chalmers.

Mr Bradbury has held leadership roles at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and was a partner in KPMG Australia’s consulting division.

He served as parliamentary secretary to the treasurer and assistant treasurer between 2010 and 2013. He is currently chair of the Board of Taxation.

“I look forward to working with the executive board, APRA colleagues and stakeholders to support APRA’s mandate, and ensuring Australia’s superannuation sector continues to deliver sound outcomes for members,” Mr Bradbury said.
