‘A generous, valued colleague’: QPR pays tribute to Tony Harris

QPR Premium Funding regional manager Tony Harris has died aged 74 after a battle with cancer.

In a career spanning 40 years, Melbourne-based Mr Harris worked at Allianz – where he was senior marine underwriter – QBE, CGU and Arteva.

“Throughout those four decades, Tony built ... lasting relationships, earned the trust and respect of those around him, and left an impression on countless people across the insurance community,” QPR said.

“He was so much more than a highly experienced insurance professional. He was a trusted confidant, a generous mentor, a valued colleague and a genuine friend.”

Mr Harris had a “remarkable ability to share his knowledge without ever making you feel like you were being taught”, the company says.

“His guidance was always thoughtful, his perspective valued and his quick wit could lighten even the busiest day. His kindness, experience and generosity of spirit will be deeply missed. Thank you for the knowledge, the friendship, the guidance and the laughs.”
