Motorsport group teams with MGA, Miller

Motorsport Australia has appointed MGA and Miller Insurance as broker partners, providing local and international expertise.

MGA represents the organisation’s local customer-facing arm, delivering a more responsive claims service model, while Miller Insurance in London will represent its interests in the global insurance markets.

“This new structure is consistent with Motorsport Australia’s increased focus on the sport’s insurance and risk management program, leveraging global best practice and applying those learnings to all aspects of motorsport in Australia,” CEO Sunil Vohra said.

MGA Insurance Group MD Paul George says his team “understands the unique risks involved in motorsport and is well equipped to deliver innovative, cost-effective insurance programs that prioritise safety, protection and long-term sustainability for Motorsport Australia, its members and stakeholders”.

Miller Insurance is a London-headquartered business that operates internationally and at Lloyd’s.

Head of sport and entertainment and head of Europe Tim Nagle says as a motorsport specialist, Miller recognises the complex risks governing bodies and clubs face.

“This specialism, combined with our experience across the wider sports and entertainment risk landscape, enables us to shape best-practice insurance solutions that meet the unique demands of this sector.”

Mr Vohra says strong representation of Motorsport Australia’s risk management profile in the London market will put downward pressure on premiums, allowing more support for grassroots clubs and the organisation’s 12,000-plus volunteer officials.
