Brokers who give back are again in the running for the annual community excellence member of the year award, presented by the National Insurance Brokers Association.   

The program, sponsored by Liberty Specialty Markets, recognises acts of charity and community engagement by NIBA members, and “service beyond duty”. 

The 2026 finalists are Aon graduate Benji Klipin, Affinity Insurance Brokers client director Paul Davenport, and joint finalists Clear Insurance CEO Lisa Carter and Goldsworthy General Insurance Services director Kate Greaves. 

“What unites these finalists is a willingness to give their time and energy where it matters most, quietly and without expectation of thanks. That instinct to give back to the community sits at the very heart of what it means to be a broker," NIBA president Nick Cook said.  

Community work includes partnering in the Dancing CEOs challenge to raise funds for Women's Legal Service Queensland; leading blood donation and cultural understanding initiatives; and programs to keep riding schools, camps and rural organisations running.  

NIBA says this demonstrates brokers turning expertise and empathy into tangible outcomes, and Liberty VP Peter O’Leary says each finalist has made a lasting difference and "it's a privilege to help recognise them". 

The award will be presented at the NIBA Convention on the Gold Coast in October.
