Bellrock moves for Lockton's Farquharson
Andrew Farquharson has left Lockton to join Bellrock Advisory as practice leader, with responsibility for leading development of the firm’s markets function.
Bellrock says the appointment marks its continued investment in insurer relationships, market strategy and complex placement capability.
CEO Marc Chiarella says the role reflects the "simple principle at the centre of the firm’s value proposition: insurance must work when our clients need it most".
"Andy has the technical capability, commercial relationships, and demonstrated judgment to continue delivering on that promise," he said.
"He is also a person of great integrity whom we are confident entrusting with this critical aspect of our value proposition. We are very pleased to have him join us.”
Mr Farquharson will strengthen insurer engagement and market strategy and build capability across complex placement, alternative risk transfer, facultative reinsurance, binders, facilities and specialist-market access.
He will operate alongside Bellrock’s other practice leaders, building on the firm’s existing market-relations foundations and helping give advisers and clients earlier access to specialist placement expertise and capacity.
Mr Farquharson spent the last three years as a manager at Lockton, and prior to that worked with Marsh and JLT.
