Swiss Re has appointed Ben Savill as CEO Australia and New Zealand, replacing Trent Thomson who has moved into a global role. 

Since April 2024, Mr Savill has been CEO Pacific for Guy Carpenter. Prior to that he held roles with Convex and Fidelis in Bermuda, having started his career with Amlin in London 30 years ago. 

As insuranceNEWS.com.au has reported, Mr Thomson become Swiss Re’s head of global specialty, based in London, from July 1, having led the Australian and New Zealand business since November 2022. 

Mr Savill takes up his new role on October 1, subject to regulatory approvals, based in Sydney.

“Combining executive leadership with deep technical expertise, Ben's knowledge and broad industry perspective will see us continue to support our clients and partners in this important market,” CEO P&C reinsurance at Swiss Re Urs Baertschi said.
