Achmea Farm Insurance has launched an online portal for stud stock owners to buy cover for their animals.

The insurer says the platform “enables farmers to insure their bulls and rams in just minutes, any time, anywhere”.

Achmea’s average sum insured for bulls exceeded $50,000 last year, driven by increased sales among several key breeds.

“Stud buyers told us they want stud stock insurance that’s convenient, simple and available when and where they need it,” Achmea CFO Math Creemers said.

“Through our new portal, you can now buy stud stock insurance online and securely pay on your mobile or laptop.”

Achmea says the portal provides cover for stud bulls and rams valued up to $100,000.
