Allianz revamps farm cover

Allianz Australia has reviewed its farm pack insurance to make it “simpler, with more relevant cover”.

The updated product includes a streamlined product disclosure statement, reduced to five sections from 10.

And a new hobby farm definition includes non-income-earning activities and turnover up to $50,000.

Cover for new motor accessories such as GPS units has been simplified, and a jewellery sublimit has increased from $10,000 to $20,000.

Crop insurance is offered by Primacy, a leading provider of the cover in Australia and an Allianz partner for more than 30 years.

Allianz Australia commercial and personal injury chief GM Julie Mitchell says the updated product better reflects the realities facing farmers today.

“Our specialist farm team is always on the ground listening and responding, and it’s their insight, combined with direct feedback from brokers and customers, that shaped these changes,” she said.

“The result is simpler, more relevant cover backed by deep technical expertise and a customer-focused service model.”

The updated product launches on digital broker platform Allianz Alive today.

The move comes as charity Rural Aid joins Allianz’s Community Care program to support its farm recovery events.

These post-disaster events focus on restoring farms and livelihoods, fostering community connection and providing mental health support for farmers, Allianz says.
