John Mutton has been appointed MD of affinity at Gallagher Australia, effective next year.

He previously spent 16 years at Austbrokers Corporate, finishing as CEO in 2021, and was most recently at Community Broker Network as chief commercial officer.

Melbourne-based Mr Mutton has also worked for Marsh, where he was MD and head of corporate and commercial Pacific.

“I’m thrilled to welcome John to Gallagher in early 2027,” Gallagher Australia CEO Alex Lumby told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “He brings a wealth of experience, a great reputation in the market and a leadership style that’s a strong fit for our business and culture.

“John joins us at an exciting time as we continue to invest in growth opportunities and strengthen our capabilities across Australia.”

CBN told insuranceNEWS.com.au it will share more details of its future management structure when plans are finalised.

“It has been great having John with us over the past two years, and he has made a significant contribution to CBN’s continued growth and development,” the company said.

“His departure creates an opportunity to further strengthen and evolve our leadership structure as we position CBN for its next phase of growth.
