Nib sets date of departure from travel operations

Nib Holdings says it expects to complete the sale of its travel insurance businesses in the first half of this financial year.

“During the [2025-26] year, Nib concluded its strategic review of Nib Travel and announced the sale of both the World Nomads and Australian and New Zealand travel insurance businesses,” the health insurance group said today.

“In FY27 Nib is expecting to receive $97 million in cash upon transaction completion and in FY28 deferred consideration in an estimated range of $0 million-$10 million”.

The group classified the travel insurance division as discontinued operations in its 2025-26 financial results.

Nib Travel made an underlying operating profit of $4.8 million last financial year, down 28.4% on the previous period, while gross written premium fell 3% to $165.5 million.
