QBE announces regional board changes
QBE says Australia Pacific board chair Melanie Willis will step down to become a group board independent non-executive director from September 1, subject to regulatory approval.
Dave Curran, a non-executive Australia Pacific director and chair of the risk and capital committee, will take over from Ms Willis.
Sally Bruce will join the Australia Pacific board as an independent non-executive director, pending regulatory clearance.
She has more than 35 years’ experience leading businesses across financial services and technology, including leadership roles at Macquarie Group, NAB and AMP, according to QBE.
QBE chair Yasmin Allen says the appointments reflect the insurer’s “ongoing focus on board renewal and maintaining the right mix of skills, experience and perspectives.
“Melanie’s move to the group board ensures QBE continues to draw on her experience and deep knowledge of the business.
“Dave’s appointment as chair provides continuity for the Australia Pacific board, while Sally adds complementary experience across financial services, technology and transformation.
“Collectively, these appointments strengthen our governance and support QBE’s future priorities.”
