Redion says it's ready for more

Travel insurer Redion says its business has grown rapidly since entering the Australian market in 2022 through the acquisition of InsureandGo and Tick.

Part of Italy’s Generali Group, the insurer secured a licence in April from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority to operate as a general insurer and the following month it rebranded as Redion.

This month AM Best assigned an A+ financial strength rating and aa- long-term issuer credit score to the travel insurer.

“Receiving this rating provides an important independent assessment of the financial foundations and strength behind our insurance business across the region,” Australia and New Zealand CEO Justin Sebire said.

“For our partners and customers in Australia and New Zealand, this rating will provide added confidence that they're backed by financial strength, expertise and ability to deliver when it matters most for Aussie and Kiwi travellers.”

Redion says the business has grown by 177% since 2023.

“Following APRA licence approval in April 2026, the company plans to shake up the industry and provide a differentiated service for the Australian and New Zealand markets,” the company said.
