Logicalis introduces regulatory compliance service

Technology services provider Logicalis has launched a consulting unit designed to help insurers with regulatory requirements in Australia.

The Technology Assurance Services business aims to clarify ambiguous requirements and help embed solutions, strengthening both cybersecurity and operations.

Melbourne-based principal Luke Gardiner says by using the Logicalis Technical Operations and Readiness Assessment methodology, it will “make resilience real”.

“Regulated organisations ... need evidence that critical systems, suppliers and contracts can withstand disruption, and a clear path to uplift where gaps exist,” he said.

“Translating expectations into practical, auditable technology outcomes is where things often break down. TAS will provide the connection between contracts and controls that directly links to how technology is delivered and operated within the organisation.”

Australia’s CPS 230 Operational Risk Management standard introduces new compliance deadlines from July.

Logicalis says this creates a practical challenge for many organisations spanning technology, procurement, legal, risk and operations.

It will host roundtables to discuss how organisations in highly regulated sectors such as insurance and financial services, manufacturing, law, government and critical infrastructure can improve governance and compliance.

“In a CPS 230 world, standard managed services aren’t enough,” director Peter Cardassis said. “Clients need a governance layer that is baked into the technology itself. My objective in forming this capability was to ensure that every dollar our clients invest in cloud and infrastructure is inherently ‘regulatory-ready’ from day one.”
