Arch Insurance Australia has promoted Carey Sturgiss to southern region professional indemnity underwriting manager, covering Victoria, Tasmania, SA and WA.

She was previously a senior PI underwriter, having joined Arch in January last year. Before that she spent four years at Chubb as a financial lines senior underwriter for the Victorian team.

Ms Sturgiss also has underwriting experience at CGU, Allianz, QBE and AIG, and has worked at IAG, Aon, Guild Insurance and Ansvar.  

She is based in Melbourne and will report to Arch PI head Aisling Hegarty.  

“Carey has quickly built strong relationships with brokers across the southern region, bringing valuable technical insight, an analytical approach and a deep understanding of the local market,” Ms Hegarty said.

“I am confident that Carey will continue to strengthen our relevance and presence in the southern region and support the ongoing growth of Arch’s PI business across Australia.”
