The Melbourne Marine Insurance Forum will discuss proximate cause in conflict-related claims next Tuesday.

Charles Taylor director of marine technical services Harshvardhan Kumar will address the topic at the office of Colin Biggers & Paisley.

“In conflict‑related marine claims, proximate cause determines whether conflict merely shaped the conditions of loss or actually caused it – and that distinction decides coverage,” the forum said.

“We will explore this topic with some case studies.”
