Markel has appointed Mark Christen as senior claims adjuster in its professional and financial risks team. 

He joins the insurer from Axa XL, where he was a claims specialist for more than two years, focusing on cyber, technology and international financial lines portfolios.

Before that, he spent nearly four years at Chubb as a cyber claims specialist.

Mr Christen will be based in Sydney, reporting to Markel’s Australian claims head Lisa Mitchell.  

Local professional and financial risks head Kym Beazleigh says Mr Christen will help enhance operations in the claims and underwriting departments.
