SIRA consults on worker return guidelines
NSW’s State Insurance Regulatory Authority is seeking feedback on its revised guidelines for return to work programs.
The regulator says the proposed amendments aim to make it easier for employers to develop and implement “compliant and effective” plans for their workers.
Employers in NSW are required to have a return program that details the policies, systems and processes used to support and manage staff with work-related injuries or illness.
“It is anticipated [the] changes will reduce confusion and ensure employers can focus on assisting workers to recover at work following a workplace injury,” SIRA said.
The closing date for submissions is February 27. Find details here.
